One of the features of my book 14 Days – 14 Pounds: Low Carb Daily Plan with Menus & Recipes is that you can create customizable shopping lists from the recipes and menus in the book. This feature is only available to verified purchasers of the book, those who downloaded it through the Kindle Unlimited program or downloaded it on a free promo day.
Features of Shop Hop
You can build a menu for a day, a week, a month, or a party, then add recipes to your menu. You can use your own recipes, the recipes from 14 Days – 14 Pounds, you can even edit the 14 Days recipes if you like.
Then all you need to do is click on My List (or whatever you’ve named your menu) and up pops a shopping list. You can then delete ingredients that you already have, change the number of servings (which will automatically change the amount of each ingredient).
Since this feature is powered by Meal Planner Pro you will need to create a free account there first. You can do that by going to Meal Planner Pro and entering as little or as much info as you want.
Once you’ve created your account then click below on the recipe you wish to prepare. Once you arrive at that recipe, click “Save Recipe”, which saves it to your Meal Planner Pro account.
If you want to substitute ingredients click on “Edit Recipe” and make your changes. Don’t worry about deleting items you already have in your kitchen or adjusting the amounts to make multiple servings. You can take care of that after saving your edited recipes.
After editing the recipe (or not) click on “My List” which opens up a list of the ingredients for the recipes you’ve chosen. From here you can uncheck ingredients which you already have and change the number of servings which will automatically adjust the amount of each ingredient. Keep adding recipes to your list and when you’re ready to go shopping you can email yourself the shopping list or print it out.
you can add the recipe to your Calendar, but you don’t have to to create your shopping list. You can then choose what course this will be and what time you’ll eat (or not), you can just add it to that day’s menu and leave it at that. If you want to use that recipe on more than one day, go ahead and choose each day that you want that recipe on your menu. The shopping list will automatically add the ingredients for multiple servings?
You don’t and clicking on “My List” which opens up a list of the ingredients for the recipes you’ve chosen. From here you can uncheck ingredients which you already have and change the number of servings which will automatically adjust the amount of each ingredient.
“My List” is mostly what you’ll use to create your grocery list but if you’re setting up a shopping list for a party or some other occasion that you want to be separate from your regular shopping list you can create any number of lists by clicking on “My Lists” in the top menu bar. You can create a new list using the “Create New List” link which is over to the left in the “Shopping List” section.
One little quirk of the Meal Planner Pro is that the nutrition info isn’t accurate, at least as far as the carb counts go. I’ve double-checked all of these recipes and am confident that the carb count I’ve listed for each recipe is accurate, so don’t go bananas over the Nutrition Info on MPP, use the carb counts that I’ve included with the serving size and you’ll be fine.
