I am a personal trainer and lots of people come to seek my help after years and year of trying different supplements and crazy diets. First I always put them on my green tea diet, which works wonders with especially obese people.  It restores your metabolism and improves your insulin sensitivity and increases lipolysis (the break down of fat cells) and thermogenesis (heat production). At the same time they start a weight training routine, which is actually more beneficial than cardiovascular training when it comes to fat burning.

The diet is actually quite simple, so there are no little rules to remember. First of all you need to eat every time you feel hungry and you must always eat enough so you feel full. That differs from a lot of diets which basically make you starve to death. Every meal consists of meat and green veggies. You can use various types of meats: beef, pork, turkey, chicken, fish, buffalo and so on. There are also a lot of good green veggies available like cucumber, salad, broccoli, asparagus…  Well, everything that is green is bound to be good to you. Just don’t eat green fruits, because they have high sugar content. With every meal you should drink a cup of green tea, because it is a very good source of healthy nutrients. It is going to increase fat burning and it is going to keep those cravings away so you have an easier time dieting. It is as simple as that. You can expect to see great results after two or three weeks of dieting.

7 Things You Should Know Before Going on a Low Calorie Diet

The food we eat everyday contains a certain amount of calories. These calories give our body the energy needed to do our everyday activities. If we take fewer calories then our body will tend to use up the stored fats to meet the energy requirements. The basic concept of a low calorie diet is to reduce the amount of calories taken in order to burn the fats. This is the reason why most people who want to lose weight go on a low calorie diet hoping to achieve fast weight loss.

Right before you go into a low calorie diet, it is highly advised that you should consult a physician in order to determine whether your body is suitable for a low calorie diet regimen. This type of diet is mainly for people who are overweight or obese with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of more than 30. This is not recommended for children and pregnant women because it could reduce their weight drastically and can lead to constipation, diarrhea and dizziness. If your weight loss is not carefully monitored, it could lead to liver problems.

e. Even though it is very tempting, don’t ever go for a very low calorie diet. It is advised not to go below a 1500 calorie diet. Don’t starve yourself!

f. Don’t avoid carbohydrates. Your body needs carbohydrates because it is rich in fibers that will help your digestion as you go on with your diet regimen and at the same time it helps in preventing digestive problems.

g. Undergoing a low calorie diet doesn’t mean that you can’t eat the food you like. The key here is taking them in moderation.

By following the tips above, your will be able to have an effective weight loss with the help of a low calorie diet. If ever some problems may arise, consult your physician right away.

Low Calorie Recipes For You To Try

Brie Spread

16 one tablespoon servings – 67 calories per serving

1 cup of Brie cheese

1 container of Laughing Cow Cheese Light, 8 wedges, any flavor

Gently microwave ingredients just until soft. Use a fork or whip to blend together. Spread on:

  • tomato slices
  • whole grain crackers
  • celery sticks

Asparagus Pasta Salad

1 serving – 55 calories

2 spears asparagus

1/4 cup tomatoes, chopped

1 package Shirataki noodles

Break off and discard woody ends of asparagus. Slice asparagus into 1/4″thick rounds. Season with sea salt and black pepper and saute in a little olive oil over medium high heat until al dente. Add tomatoes and a pinch of seal salt and a dash of black pepper. Continue saueting until the tomatoes release their juices. While sauce is cooking prepare the pasta according to package directions.  When sauce is finished add pasta and toss until well combined. Serve immediately.

 

 

Cheeseburger Casserole

8  servings – 128 calories per serving

This is a makeover of the old classic “Cheeseburger Pie”. In this version ground turkey replaces the ground beef and we’re 86ing the crust altogether. Trust me, you won’t miss it.

1lb extra lean ground turkey

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 clove garlic, minced

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 cup nonfat cottage cheese

1 egg

3/4 cup shredded lowfat Cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350
Brown turkey, onion & garlic in a large pan over medium high heat until turkey is browned. Stir Worcestershire sauce into turkey mixture. 

Pour turkey mixture into a lightly oiled pie plate.

In a medium bowl, mix cottage cheese with egg.  Pour cottage cheese mixture over turkey. Top with cheddar cheese. Place tomato slices on top and bake for 30-40 minutes until casserole is hot and bubbling.

Made by Braun, Krups, Kitchen Aid, and Cuisinart, they cost anywhere from $30 to $200.

For an active fitness fan, a juicer or blender for smoothies, vegetables, and ice might be a necessity.  Consider the pro power juicer for your various juicing preferences. Available with three to five speeds, they cost from $50 to $300. Round out your counter top with an electric can opener in white, black, or stainless for $20 to $50.

Weight management is so difficult for most of us. It is easy for us to gain weight, but losing it is a different story. It requires a calculated effort and some planning. There are many programs out there that promise to help you lose weight. But many of them do not help you to maintain weight loss.

Let’s face it, nothing is worse than having to dig out your old “fat” clothes or have to buy ones that are even larger because you have not maintained your weight loss. The objective is to lose 10 pounds and prevent it from creeping back on.

In order to do this, you must make lasting lifestyle changes. How do you do it? Starving yourself is not the answer. Delicious Healthy Salad Recipe to Help You Lose Weight

As half of your plate should consist of salad and/or vegetables, it helps to have lots of healthy and tasty salad recipes at hand. Bulking up your meals with salad and/or veggies is also a great way to cut down on the calorie and fat. To help you with some tasty and healthy salad ideas, I will share with you one of my favorite recipes. Here it is:

Tomatoes in Spicy Dressing

The first time I made this recipe I was extremely impressed. It is one of the most delicious salads I have tasted yet.

Info:

Serves: 4
Number of fat burning foods: 3 (tomatoes, chili spice and avo oil)
Calories per serving:225
Fat per serving:17.5g
Ingredients:

  • 700g large ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 4 pickled gherkins

For the dressing:

  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to season

Instructions:
Cut the gherkins into thin slices length ways and then into thin strips. Mix all the dressing ingredients to make a dressing. Arrange half of the tomatoes in a dish, followed by some onions and gherkins. Continue layering until all the ingredients are done. Pour the dressing over the salad and leave to stand for 5 minutes before serving.

I hope that you enjoyed the salad recipe and that you make it also one of your favorites. It goes great with almost anything. Adding salads to your meals will help you to get lots of vitamins and minerals in your diet so that your body can become healthier and stronger. It will also help you to eat less of the foods and it may even help you to lose weight.

Just remember that to be more healthy and to maybe lose some weight, you also have to exercise regularly. The best exercises for weight loss are cardio and weight training. One of my favorite cardio machines is the eliptical exercise machine. And for weight training I prefer adjustable dumbbells.

Pineapple Delight

1 large handful of fresh baby spinach

1/2 fresh pineapple

10 strawberries

1/2 cucumber

Juice in the order listed above. Pour over ice and drink up!

 

Virgin Bloody Mary

2 tomatoes

1 celery stalk

1 large carrot

1 cup chopped broccoli

1 cucumber

1/2 lemon – peeled

1 garlic clove

dash or two of hot sauce

Run everything through your juicer and enjoy!

 

Dr. Oz’s Green Drink

So many of you have asked us for the drink Dr. Oz swears by that we had to end with this one.  This “green drink” is high in fiber, very low-cal and extremely rich in vitamins. You can make this in a juicer or a blender. If you’re making it in a blender be sure to chop all veggies and fruit first, juice and zest the lemon and lime and discard the rest, core and peel the apple, use only the leaves of the parsley.

2 cups spinach

2 cups chopped cucumber

1 head of celery

1/2 inch of teaspoon of ginger root

1 bunch parsley

2 apples

1 lime

1/2 lemon

Getting Started on The UnDiet

Choose your UnDiet plan based on your eating habits, how much you like to cook, and your own personal food choices. Each plan (except Protein Binge) allows for deviations while still maintaining the fundamentals that will keep you on track. Obviously the closer you stay to the track the healthier you’ll be and the quicker you’ll lose all those unwanted pounds. But it’s much better to be happy with what you’re eating and be able to easily incorporate the plan you choose into your daily schedule. So start where you feel the most comfortable and phase into each successive stage or plan when you feel ready.

Start the first day of the rest of your life by going through your refrigerator, cupboards, and all your secret stashes looking for Forbidden Foods . Throw them away. You don’t need them sitting there in your cupboard calling your name.

Or if you’re like me and hate to waste anything, cook up a storm and invite a bunch of friends over for a Backwards Potluck. It’s “backwards” because instead of everybody bringing a dish and ending up with a hodgepodge buffet, you’re providing the hodgepodge and sending your guests home with the leftovers. I don’t call it a dinner party because none of the food “matches” – there could be a Mexican casserole, Italian pasta, lots of desserts … Then package up all the leftovers and give them to your guests as they depart at the end of the evening.

Even after the “backwards potluck” I still had lots of forbidden food around, so I cooked up another storm and delivered meals to some single parent families in my church and neighborhood with a little note of encouragement for the great job they were doing. Oh well, that’s what I did because I love to cook and hate to waste, you may just want to throw it all away, or donate it uncooked to a local food bank or a family who could use it.
