The Healthiest Fat Loss with the Help of a Journal

Published by:

A lot of people decide that they’re going to trim fat from their body and then do their best to achieve their goals without much of a plan at all. Many people decide to lose fat on a whim or when they simply get fed up with what they see in the mirror. But if you want to truly get long-term results then you’re going to have to be as organized as possible. Otherwise, you’ll just be really motivated for two weeks and probably quit when you face inevitable challenges that come your way. This is a familiar pattern that has plagued people for a long time, but there’s no reason you can’t change things. In order to be organized and know exactly how to approach things, you might benefit from the help of a Fat Loss Journal. The great thing about a Fat Loss Journal is that there are no exact rules as to what it should contain. It is basically a resource that you can tailor to your personality that will also help you to stay on track.

It’s important to remember there is an emotional part to losing weight just as there is with gaining weight. If you don’t deal with the emotional aspect in a healthy way, chances are you won’t be able to adapt a new healthier diet conducive to weight loss. You’re going to face challenges along the way, and one of the best ways to deal with them is with the help of a journal. It can be a resource in which you record your various thoughts and feelings, and it can be a place to vent as well. In addition to building up your support system of friends and family, having a journal at your side can help to bolster your mental well-being in pursuit of a healthier body. You can also use it to write any interesting information that you find on the Internet, or helpful advice that your friends give you. It can be a place where you record different types of recipes that you can try along with pictures of yourself so that you know exactly how far you’ve progressed. The point is to make your Fat Loss Journal what you want it to be.

Since exercise is such a key component to fat loss, you’re going to want to keep yourself on track using any means possible. A journal can be the perfect place to record your experience with different types of exercises and what you can do to improve your performance. Ideally, you want to be able to work your way up from walking around the neighborhood each day to picking up the pace with the best exercise equipment. Recording workout information is a vital step in helping you to build your endurance and fine tune your approach to daily physical activity. Ultimately, your fat loss journal will be a valuable resource you can have at your side that is custom tailored to provide you with the information necessary to adapt your plan as you go.

Can You Really Find Healthy Protein Powder?

Published by:

As someone who works in the fitness industry and is always working with people on their fitness goals the subjects of diet and food comes up constantly.  A hot topic that I always end up discussing with clients is healthy protein powders.  Many people trying to change their bodies and bring them to a state of fitness are including more protein to build muscle, lose fat and increase their metabolism. This is great logic in theory.

Protein is a key component to all your fitness goals and I may likely be the first to tell you to bump it up.  But just as much as increasing your protein matters so does where it comes from too. The quality of protein in the majority of protein powders is hardly fit for consumption despite what is presented on the label and advertised in the media. The vast majority of protein powders are loaded with additives. They contain chemical flavors, colors and scents. They are loaded with preservatives (which is why they will keep for several years on your shelf) and many fillers like inexpensive soy to make up bulk and hike the protein stats on the label.

What is not discussed is how these protein powders and your body interact together. Protein powders made from a low quality protein source which is often overly-processed soy and whey are usually very difficult for your body to digest.  Despite what the numbers say on the label if your body can’t use it then it’s useless to you. Additionally, there are all the additives included in the protein powder that your body has to now deal with. Where does it go? More often then not these additives line your intestines making it even harder for your body to absorb the nutrients that you need and adding excess body weight through expanded intestines. Have you noticed how your tummy grow over the years even when your body fat is in check? This is a sign of toxic build up at work in your body and showing up in a spare tire around your stomach.

Finding the best protein powder means choosing a protein powder that your body can digest. Look for natural proteins from hemp or other vegetable sources.  Look for very few ingredients, only one if possible. No flavoring is always best, then you can add in what you like to have such as berries or bananas. Following these guidelines when choosing your protein powder will speed you along towards reaching your fitness and weight goals much more so than blindly following the magic promises in the next magazine ad you read.

Avoid Bad Advice About How to Lose Belly Fat

Published by:

There are more than 100 million Americans who are either overweight or obese, with the highest percentage among kids. The excess fat trend is growing at an alarming rate, with many children approaching morbid obesity even before their teen years begin.  This unfortunate condition fortunately has a simple explanation, and an equally simple solution.

It’s all about the foods we put in our mouths, not how much food we eat.  For years, we’ve been told that gaining weight is because we are eating too much food. Most of us have come to believe the popular myth that the body responds to a natural “energy balance” that results in piling on fat if we consume more energy than we happen to “burn” through our daily activities. It turns out this isn’t the case, which will come as a great relief if you’ve ever tried to starve yourself by cutting calories, thinking that consuming fewer calories would be the quickest way to lose weight. Fortunately, it doesn’t work that way.

If you’re wondering how to lose belly fat, you’ll be relieved to learn it’s extremely simple. You lose belly fat the same way you lose fat in other areas of your body:  by lowering the chronic insulin levels in your bloodstream. Fat only accumulates in the presence of insulin, a hormone secreted by the pancreas in response to an increase in your blood sugar levels. Blood sugar rises most quickly when you consume sugar, starch, and other easily-processed carbohydrates.

In order to keep your blood sugar at healthy levels, you need to significantly reduce your sugar and high fructose corn syrup intake, as well as drastically curtail your consumption of potatoes, breads, pastas, rice, brownies, cake, cereals, and the like. While this will undoubtedly be hard to do at first, particularly if you’re used to a life full of sugar and starches, you’ll be amazed at how quickly the weight comes off!

Natural Diets For Quick Weight Loss

Published by:

It is important to search for safe but effective diets for quick weight loss. While there are many diets available from which to choose, many of them are laden with problems or potential danger. Other weight loss solutions such as gastric bypass surgery are rather drastic. Here are three conservative yet efficacious methods to use for shedding those few extra pounds in a hurry.

Green Tea

Green tea is a drink that has been around for centuries and has long been known for its healthful benefits and its use as a natural remedy for certain health problems. Lately, it has grown in popularity as a metabolic booster. Those who choose this method for weight loss will find that after several weeks of drinking it, their metabolism will be so greatly increased that they will begin to shed the pounds without having to severely restrict foods. Since green tea has a small amount of caffeine in it, it is wise to restrict other form of caffeine such as coffee and soda. Ingesting too much caffeine can lead to insomnia, nervousness and difficulty concentrating.

Low Fat Foods

While using this green tea weight loss plan, it will be even more beneficial if the individual focuses on lowering their fat intake especially saturated fats. These unhealthy kinds of fats are particularly found in animal meats. Instead, results will be noticed even faster if one focuses on eating more raw fruits and vegetables.

Body Cleanse Plan

Not only does green tea effectively increase metabolism, but it also is known for cleansing the intestines of toxins acquired from processed foods. Performing a body cleanse aids in burning fat as well as in keeping the fat cells small so that they do not reacquire weight. Some recommend some other natural products in addition to green tea for the most effective cleanse.

The best diets for quick weight loss are those that focus on a more natural approach. Green tea is an excellent option. Benefits will of course be maximized in the person who also exercises regularly as well. A good amount of green tea to drink each day is approximately two to three cups.

Is Weight Loss Really All in the Mind?

Published by:

If you’ve ever spent countless hours thinking about how you’ll one day get curves like sexy Latina Sofia Vergara or rock-hard abs like LL Cool J (Did I mention he’s in his 40s?), then you’re already on your way to your weight loss goal.

According to a new study released in the journal “Psychology and Health”, visualization helps stimulate better eating habits which eventually leads to weight loss. One hundred and seventy-seven students at the McGill University in Canada were asked to make a concrete plan about what they are going to eat for the week, focusing specifically on their fruit intake. The study found that “making an action plan and visualizing yourself carrying it out will help you reach your goals”.

In a span of a week the students were asked to visualize what kind of fruit they were going to eat, where they were going to get the fruit, and how they were going to prepare the fruit before eating it. The results were highly favourable, with those who did the visualization exercise eating an average of 3.85 servings of fruit a day as compared to those that didn’t do any visualization eating only 2.23 servings of fruit a day.

As explained by researcher Barbel Knauper, professor of psychology at McGill University, the study proves that those with a solid diet plan are “better at acting on their intentions.” Of course this visualization exercise is not just applicable to increasing fruits in your diet. The technique can also be applied to your existing diet, for example, if you want to include more fat burning foods in your diet then just visualize filling your shopping cart with food proven to have a fat burning effect such as apples, pears, mangoes, cabbage, and chicken and then making a healthy salad when you get home.

Out of the Box Diets

Eat like a caveman, lock your kitchen down at night and writing to an imagined pen pal. Depending on who you believe, these could be very unusual weight loss tips or they could turn out to be diets that work.

The Flintstones Diet. Can anybody say Yabadabadoo? In his book “The New Evolution Diet: What Our Paleolithic Ancestors Can Teach Us About Weight Loss, Fitness, and Aging” author and grandfather of the Paleo Movement, Arthur De Vany encourages modern day Janes and Joes to follow the dietary patterns of our ancestors.

The Paleo movement believes that in order to lose weight we must do as our ancestors do. This means that large amount of meat is eaten, avoiding modern food (bread included as agriculture wasn’t invented yet 40,000 years ago) and then fasting in between those meals just like how a regular cavemen would in between hunts.

As you can tell, this diet is not for the faint of heart as it requires a lot of self-discipline not to go and eat a burger, which by the way wasn’t around until 1880.

The Kitchen Lockdown Diet. And in James Beckerman’s, M.D book “The Flex Diet: Design-Your-Own Weight Loss Plan” that is just one of the more than 200 ways he tells you how you can lose weight.

The Flex diet is divided into three parts which are Today, Every Day and Your Way. In the first stage, followers of the diet are promised that they can lose at least five pounds in two weeks time, and the tips you followed for this stage you take to the next until the thrid stage wherein you already have developed your own intricate system of dieting.

It sounds too easy right? Think again. For the most part, Flexers for the most part of this diet are left to their own devices. Sure there area 200 ways on how to lose weight, but which one should you follow? Which combinations are right for you? How long until you’re confused at which tip you’re following again? Who knows.

The Love is the Answer Diet. Jean Fain, author of “The Self-Compassion Diet: A Step-by-Step Program to Lose Weight with Loving-Kindness” suggests that love can melt away those extra pounds.

According to Fain, the Self-Compassion Diet utilizes four proven psychological routes that can lead to weight loss, these are meditation, hypnosis, self-compassion and group support. Now I know what you’re thinking, how can a diet that tells someone to create an imaginary friend and write that imaginary friend a letter going to work? In an interview this is what Fain says,

Researchers have shown that hypnosis and meditation help dieters get a handle on the range of eating issues, but given the number of diets most Americans have under their belts or elasticized waist-bands, these less-traveled psychological routes may sound like dead ends. I encourage a healthy mix of skepticism and curiosity. Certainty only comes with time and experience.

Green Tea Weight Loss – How to do it Right?

Published by:

Drinking green tea to burn fat has become a common means for weight reduction. Even so, you have to do it correctly to achieve the results you want. If your plan is to consume one cup of green tea daily and you’re counting on the extra weight melting off, you’re going to be disappointed. You have to consume a great deal of green tea to deliver genuine weight-loss benefits, and you must consume the appropriate type of green tea. Read on for a simple guide to getting ideal results compiled from the results of numerous scientific studies regarding green tea weight loss.

To begin with it’s the anti-oxidants in green tea, known as EGCG that actually induce the green tea weight loss effects. EGCG, whilst supplying the additional key health benefits of green tea like decreasing your chance of cancers and cardiovascular disease, increases your metabolism securely and holistically with no negative effects. The research has shown that for optimum weight loss effects you have to take in about seven hundred mg of EGCG daily. With this amount, EGCG uses up, typically, seventy-five to eighty calories per day.

There are two feasible approaches to consuming that much green tea every day – by drinking green tea or by taking the health supplement version of green tea known as green tea extract. If you choose to drink green tea then you’ll need to drink it in the form of loose leaf green tea rather than using green tea bags. The reason behind this is that the leaves in tea bags are sliced into tiny pieces which exposes 1/2 to 2/3 of the EGCG anti-oxidants to air, opening them up to oxidative damage. Because of this you would have to drink two to three times as many cups compared to loose leaf green tea. The truth is you still have to consume around six cups of loose leaf green tea daily anyway. Typically, a cup of freshly made loose leaf green tea supplies around a hundred and twenty mg of EGCG. So six cups supplies you with seven hundred and twenty mg of EGCG.

For many people, consuming six cups of loose leaf green tea every day just isn’t possible, which is the reason why green tea extract is very common these days. Using green tea extract you can know precisely how much EGCG you’re consuming since every pill or tablet contains a standard dosage. Just look at the content label to determine the amount of pills you must take to reach  seven hundred mg. Don’t be concerned if your dosage goes above this number, since research has shown that even with extremely high doses (much greater than seven hundred mg), EGCG is quite safe, however over seven hundred mg the green tea weight loss results do not increase.
